What happens in a pain cafe?
The start of each session involves social time with free tea, coffee and snacks. We then have a 30 minute guided movement session with a qualified instructor. In the last hour of the session there is a facilitated discussion around a pain management topic where anyone can ask questions and contribute their experiences.

Do I need to book a place?
Currently we have some spaces available in the cafes so please feel free to turn up. If we reach capacity we may need to ask people to book in the future.
What pain management principles do you follow?
We use the Ten Footsteps programme as a basis for discussion but we are also guided by participant experiences. We also review current literature and research to bring the best experience possible.

How much does it cost to attend?
The cafe is free for participants but donations towards costs appreciated. We are supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, the Livewell Foundation and some refreshments are kindly provided by the local Co-operatives.
